When I used to use my "advanced beggine meathod"

Can someone spare 14 gold? I need it to open the storage account.

Usually people give me 100~500 gold, that's how I've managed to get better armor every time it's avalable. ^.^

It's much better then asking for 1k

My "n00bie days":

-Selling black dye to a merch or throwing it over ascalon armour
-Making my N/E a fire nuker with no Necro spells
-Trying to do PvP with a lvl 16 char

hmz how much I hate those people these days :P

My first Character was the only one who I actually got enjoyment out of doing PvE... Now I have to level up with a hired clown, DJ Tiesto, Ice Cream and a few cans of Cola to keep me going

My early mistakes are amazingly embarrassing. There was the time:

1. I went into PvP with no weapon equipped. I had been messing around with the second weapon set and somehow ended up with no weapon at all there and that set selected. I remember standing on a rock bridge flailing away at some character and doing no damage at all. To make things worse, i didn't even understand what was wrong until the battle was over (as you could guess, i died early).

2. My mouse dropped to the floor and then stopped working during a battle. With my superb coordination, I managed to completely unplug the mouse. My teammates were screaming at me. My panic just made things worse. I kept trying to plug the mouse connector back into the USB port and failing as people died all around me (luckily they were just dying on the screen and not at my house).

I wish I could report that, after 7 months in the game, I have become a real guru. But the only difference is that I'm too embarrassed to report on my more recent mistakes.

Sorry for the slight bump but I feel like sharing my story. With my first Character I reached the mission Aurora Glade, after 5 tries I gave up and fought to Henge of Denravi, I have gotten 5 Characters to the dessert and I have yet to complete Aurora Glade:P I always skip it because of the terrible memories I have of that first time^^

Ah noobie days

My first char was a Necro/Mesmer. Not a bad character all in all, but boy did I make some stupid mistakes..

1. Dye..it was awesome and I used it LIBERALLY. I can remember getting black dye and thinking 'oh wow, awesome' and PLOP, on it went (pre-sear)armor. The same thing happened with any dye I happened to get my grubby lil' hands on; be it red, green, silver, etc (yes even black). End result: I looked like a clown and wasted soooo much money throwing good dye on pre-armor. Idiot!

2. My husband went to post before me and I remember watching him play and going 'oooohh scary, nuhuh, I'm NOT going there"...and I didn't. Took me about 3 weeks before I got the nerve to 'make the plunge'.

3. After I finally convinced myself to actually leave pre; I can remember taking Alesia EVERYWHERE. I went to talk to Ambassador Zain, c'mon Alesia. Hey, those two carrion were scary!!!

4. Buying all superior runes (hubby was nice enough to help me with money and he knew no better either). I was soooo proud of myself, here I was in my multi-colored rainbow pre armor, tricked out with superior runes and like 45 health. Yep, real winner was me

I'm sure I could dredge up a lot more (hides face in shame), but those are some of my most memorable.

i remember my first character, i took my time with everything on that wammo. I remember where i thought w/r were total noobs because i thought rangers only used bows so i said "you cant use an axe and a bow!"

Its sometimes better to be ignorant in the game than to know most of it, you see the stuff that goes on behind the scenes.

My first char. was a Necro during Beta. I wasn't able to Beta as much until the first UAS weekend, and I had a field day with all the skills. Well of Power, Life Transfer... I wanted an all-Elite skillbar and whined about that.

Anyway, I remember discovering Blood is Power. "Cool. None of the casters will ever have to worry about energy again." So I took that into a mission. BiP the monk, BiP the ele, BiP the... huh? How come I'm dead?

Hence, the battery necro revolution stalled until a few months after the game was released.

Back to when i started GW with my Wammo (yeah this was apealing me much), i didn't understand how armor worked... I thought it would stack on every piece. So if you had a full set of level 40 armor you'll end up with 5 x 40 = 200.

Imagine how i was spamming healing signet because 200 - 40 wasn't a big deal for me ^^ Then cursing the game about how mobs could destroy my 'uber-wammo' easy.

That's also why i was running around without a shield for a lot of time... +16 armor on top of 200 ? who cares if i can have some more energy instead wearing a focus ?

Ah, so many of us have used black dye on pre armor, makes me feel so much better to se that! People in my guild are currently using second accounts a lot, and so a load of us are playing through pre-searing again, some even playing perma-pre chars, and we were discussing out black dye noob stories in guild chat yesterday.

Other noob moves: - making a necro with monk secondary just because of the 'amazing' skill that was bane signet (it uses no energy - wow!) and then never bothering to use another monk skill apart from res spells.

- buying a white 10-20 cesta from another player for 1000g when I only had 1500g total

-strolling out of Beacons Perch into Lornars Pass and dying almost instantly and wondering what the hell had just happened, although this was in the days before running down to Droks really kicked off.

-getting really concerned after I bypassed The Wilds mission and did Bloodstone Fen, and seeing my White Mantle buddies had betrayed the cause, then messaging my guild leader in deep confusion about this!

-whan I heard talk about farming, I honestly thought that we set up a farm in Kryta to settle down and get agricultural.

I remember my first days of Guild Wars quite fondly. I had just bought the box at my local Best Buy a week after the game came out and was ready to go home and play. Upon loading the game and looking at the login screen i felt that I would enjoy this game. I then proceeded to make my Warrior. My first char, a W/N combo, had lots of fun playing through pre-sear but got thoroughly sick of the destroyed Ascalon. Sure it was great looking at the destroyed buildings that had once been green a few minutes earlier but after a while it got dull. Then i advanced to the Shiverpeaks and had a breath of fresh air blown into me by this vast new area. I proceeded to do the missions and be the first person in my guild to make it to fabled Lions Arch. I made it there and bought myself a good axe and sheild and went on to solve some murders and visit the Gods at their temple before continuing into the Jungle. I quickly sped through there to end up in my favorite place, the desert.
I had lots of fun in the deset, finding the ruins of ancient societys and trying to ascend and become more powerful. I took many picturesque screens and still have some to this day. I then took my little Warrior but on to Droknars Forge the old fashioned way, I actually did the missions and didn't run there, Wow! Anywho, I went through the missions here quickly and even did the "Impossible" THK in one go. After that I proceeded to the Ring of Fire islands and felt somewhat betrayed by the Vizier and beat the hell out of that traitor Rurik.
After beating the game i would then do some UW and FoW runs before creating a new char and having to do this whole thing all over again. Except for my new chars had a lot harder time because it seemed that during the time i was in UW and FoW all the good players had left and were replaced by Leeroy clones and the like. But all in all it has been a good and fun time here in the land of Guild Wars. Just waiting now to explore the mysterious lands of Cantha with my Chars.

I had the advantage of having guildmates and teamspeak from my first day. My boyfriend had the game first and told me to not sell/use any dyes in presear, and walked me through a lot. However, being stubborn and independent, I installed and started up the game without telling him that I got it, and walked out the main gate of pre-ascalon and was so confused/lost. I saw someone walking towards me on a path (not realizing that it was an NPC) and tried to talk to it. They commented that they were going somewhere and too busy to talk and I was all bent out of shape about how rude they were... I just needed help and directions.

My first char was a Me/N. I ran around pre-searing with a sword and shield that first day. Some random player paired up with me, saw what I was using and gave me a wand and focus item. I could FEEL the amusement in his text, asking if that's all i had. It was later that day that my BF explained attributes and that as a Me/N - i wouldn't have any melee skills....

Ohhh my noob days.
I am so lucky that my guild from another mmorpg helped me with my first chara on GW but I still do so many silly things. xD

1. My friend and I got out of presearing and I was so excited being in the new place. He talked to me about usage of dyes and asked me if I want any colors. I told him I want blue. He then gives me few blue dyes, some money, and material for me to craft new armour. I was a R/N so I made the Ascalon Fur set (it was blue lolol). I dyed it by using the blue dye I just freeloaded . Then the colour of the armour didn't change at all..... I was so damn confused and asked him "how come it's not BABY BLUE?!!!" <.< He goes "Meh.. you are wasting my money....."

2. My second chara was an N/Me. I went around to do Me skill quests from Vassar. I kept on running around on the snow mt. to get to the riverside instead of realizing that I should make a turn when I got out of the outpost.... I got so pissy and I was about to take ss to report this "bug" to ANet........

Edit: Ohhh how can I forget about this one

3. When I was level 14...... One of my guildie (E/Me20) tried to run me (e/mo 14) and other 2 guildies (me/e14, w/mo15) from Beacon to Forge......... We had two poor henchies with us too. >_>

We tried to run and run and run and run for 40mins....... but we got owned by Wurms everytime the time.
